BaoVans Insurance Coverage
At BaoVans, we want you to travel with peace of mind and no surprises.
That’s why we explain in full transparency what each coverage includes, the deductible (excess) amounts, and the situations that no coverage will ever include.
1. Types of Coverage
Basic Coverage (included in the rental price)
Mandatory third-party liability coverage.
Does not cover damage to the rented vehicle itself.
High deductible depending on vehicle type (see table below).
Security deposit held on a credit card in the driver’s name.
Deposit refund time: between 15 and 20 business days.
No pick-up or drop-off allowed outside business hours.
Premium Coverage (optional)
Our most complete protection:
Reduces the deductible for the full coverage insurance (see table).
Includes 24/7 roadside assistance (up to 500 km from our office at C/ Villarroel 58, Barcelona, only within mainland Spain).
Priority assistance in case of an incident.
Deposit refund within 24–48 hours after contract closure.
Allows out-of-hours pick-up and drop-off (by prior arrangement).
Available only before the rental contract starts and keys are handed over.
2. Deductible & Deposit by Vehicle Type
The deductible is the same amount as the deposit and applies per damage.

Additionally:
In all rentals, an extra €150 fuel deposit will be held.
This will be refunded if the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at pick-up.
This fuel deposit applies to all vehicles and all coverages.
3. Exclusions – Not Covered by Any Insurance
The following situations are not covered under either Basic or Premium Coverage.
In all these cases, the renter is fully responsible for the cost:
Flat tires due to poor driving or driving off paved roads.
Damage to third parties caused by careless or reckless driving (using a mobile phone, speeding, not using the handbrake, etc.).
Refueling with the wrong type of fuel.
Wheel rim and tire damage (kerb impacts, etc.).
Loss or breakage of keys or remotes.
Theft of the vehicle with the keys left inside.
Upholstery and lock damage (burns, cuts, attempted theft, etc.).
Interior damage (excessive dirt, broken flooring or panels, etc.).
Drilling holes in the bodywork or removing branding without permission.
Loss or detachment of seats.
Damage or loss of accessories (antenna, jack, warning triangles, fire extinguisher, safety vest, tire repair kit, vehicle documents, etc.).
Engine damage due to negligence (overloading, improper driving, etc.).
Undercarriage damage (speed bumps, bollards, off-road driving, etc.).
Damage caused by incorrect height estimation (e.g., entering parking garages).
Damage from improper clutch use.
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Damage caused by animals.
Any other damage resulting from negligence or improper use.
4. Accident Procedure
To ensure your coverage is valid, you must:
Notify BaoVans within 24 hours of the incident and before returning the vehicle.
Provide a properly completed accident report. If invalid, coverage will not apply.
Submit any additional documentation requested within 7 days of the incident.
