Barcelona is one of the best starting points in Spain for a campervan trip: the Costa Brava is an hour away, the Pyrenees two and a half, and the south of France three.

They all go out inspected, cleaned and with the kitchen kit already on board. A bike rack is available on request: just ask when you book.
Costa Brava — 3 or 4 days. Calella de Palafrugell, Cadaqués and Cap de Creus. It’s the classic, and September beats August by a distance: the sea is still warm and the coves are empty.
Pyrenees — 5 to 7 days. Vall de Boí, Aigüestortes and La Cerdanya. Excellent roads and a good spread of motorhome service areas. Outside summer, check the mountain passes before you set off.
South of France — 7 to 10 days. Perpignan, Carcassonne and the Camargue. France has one of the best networks of service areas (aires) in Europe, many of them free. There are no border checks driving from Spain into France, but do carry your passport or ID card.
Spanish law draws a line between parking and camping. You may park a campervan anywhere any other vehicle is allowed to park, as long as you don’t put out awnings, chairs or tables and don’t take up more than one space. The moment you unfold anything, it counts as camping — and for that you need a campsite or a designated area.
Plenty of coastal towns have their own by-laws in summer, and protected natural areas such as Cap de Creus and Aigüestortes have specific restrictions. Check the local rules wherever you’re headed — they change from one town to the next, and they’re rarely signposted in English, so it’s worth looking them up before you arrive.
A standard category B licence — no special motorhome licence is needed. For campervans the minimum age is 25. EU and EEA licences are valid in Spain exactly as issued. If your licence comes from outside the EU/EEA, contact us before booking and we’ll confirm what applies to your case.

On campervans, cancellation is free up to 3 months before the start date. With at least 30 days’ notice you get a 50% refund; under 30 days the full amount is charged. Note this is stricter than our car and van policy, which allows free cancellation up to 48 hours before. The full detail is in our rental conditions.

For July and August, yes: we have very few units and they go quickly. Out of season there’s usually availability at shorter notice.
